Sinus Aid (Seaprose) - 180 (3x60) tablets

What is Seaprose? What are it's benefits?

Seaprose, a semi-alkaline serine-proteinase produced by the fungus Aspergillus melleus, is a high protein mucolytic enzyme which can assist in relieving the symptoms often associated with congestion and sinus issues.
Seaprose-S demonstrates an ability to reduce painful inflammation and break up mucus.
Seaprose is an enzyme that has been proven to be able to shorten the long chains of mucoproteins (in mucus), and thereby make it easier for the body to expectorate and clear the mucus from the body.
Seaprose brings relief for respiratory problems such as bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, bonchiolitis and bronchial asthma.
Seaprose has demonstrated potential against harmful bacteria like streptococcus.
The enzyme Seaprose also had anti-inflammatory action, and since in chronic bronchitis there are variable degrees of inflammations, its beneficial long-lasting effect could also be ascribed to this concomitant action.

Studies:

Seaprose may help alleviate pain, swelling and inflammation. Studies have shown that Seaprose S demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory activity, inhibiting edema, and potent bradykinin (a chemical mediator of inflammation) decomposition activity. Seaprose demonstrates an ability to reduce painful inflammation and break up mucus.1

In a study, Seaprose's effectiveness was assessed in 20 patients with chronic bronchitis. Half of the group took Seaprose while the other half took a placebo; the researchers assessed the effects by analysing each patient's bronchial mucus. Patients who took Seaprose showed significant improvements in bronchial inflammation and in the viscosity of the mucus (the liquid's rate of resistance to flow).2

In a study, Seaprose significantly reduce the pain, oedema, cramping, and skin redness associated with inflammation of the veins. A condition called thrombophlebitis, and it is associated with blood clot formation.3

In a study, Seaprose has shown anti-inflammatory activity against many different inflammatory conditions, including arthritis, oedema, pleurisy (inflammation of the lung lining), and peritonitis (inflammation of the lining of the abdomen).4
