Flax seed Oil 1000mg - 100 soft gels

What is Flax seed Oil Supplement and how does it work?

Flax seed is the seed of the flax plant, which is believed to have originated in Egypt. It grows throughout Canada and the northwestern United States. Flax seed oil comes from the seeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum, L.). Flax seed oil contains both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are needed for health. Flax seed oil contains the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body converts into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil.
  • Studies of flax seed preparations to lower cholesterol levels report mixed results. A 2009 review of the clinical research found that cholesterol-lowering effects were more apparent in postmenopausal women and in people with high initial cholesterol concentrations.
  • Some studies suggest that alpha-linolenic acid (a substance found in flax seed and flax seed oil) may benefit people with heart disease.
  • Study results are mixed on whether flax seed decreases hot flashes.
  • Although some population studies suggest that flax seed might reduce the risk of certain cancers, there is not enough research to support a recommendation for this use.
  • NCCAM is funding studies on flax seed. Recent studies are looking at its potential role in preventing or treating atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), breast cancer, and ovarian cysts.
  • In addition to treating rheumatoid arthritis and high blood fats, flax seed oil is used for treating osteoarthritis, anxiety, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), vaginal infections, dry eyes, モhardening of the arteriesï¾” (atherosclerosis), high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
  • Some people use flax seed oil as a laxative for constipation, for weight loss, and to prevent breast cancer and prostate cancer.
  • Flaxseed oil is also applied to the skin to sooth irritations or soften roughness.
