What is Alfalfa and how does it work?

Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) is a flowering plant cultivated in the US, Canada, Argentina, France, Australia, the Middle East, South Africa, and many other countries. It is known as lucerne in the UK, France, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, and known as lucerne grass in south Asia. It superficially resembles clover, with clusters of small purple flowers.

Alfalfa has been used as an herbal medicine for over 1,500 years. Alfalfa is high in protein, calcium, plus other minerals, vitamins in the B group, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K. In early Chinese medicines, physicians used young alfalfa leaves to treat disorders related to the digestive tract and the kidneys.In Ayurvedic medicine, physicians used the leaves for treating poor digestion. They made a cooling poultice from the seeds for boils. At the time, alfalfa was also believed to be beneficial to people suffering from arthritis and water retention.

Alfalfa is used for kidney conditions, bladder and prostate conditions, and to increase urine flow. It is also used for high cholesterol, asthma, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, upset stomach, and a bleeding disorder called thrombocytopenic purpura. Alfalfa benefits the digestive system in several ways. For those who seem to have less of an appetite than is healthy, it can be an appetite stimulator. Alfalfa also contains enzymes which can help the body absorb and digest food more easily.

We stand behind every item we sell. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply return the unused portion (unfortunately we cannot process empty containers as returns) in original packaging with your invoice within 14 days from delivery date for a prompt refund less shipping.
Please contact us for authorization before returning product, unauthorized returns will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Only one opened item of the same product is eligible for return. All others of the same item must be in factory sealed original packaging for a refund.
If more than 10 items from the order are returned, a 15% restocking fee will be applied.
We cannot process returns after 30 days.

For items damaged in transit:

USPS damaged item notice has to be sent to us to claim replacement.
The damaged product has to be returned to make the claim.
